Richmond Raider Football 2011

2011 varsity raiders football schedule has been released and posted in the documents section at the bottom of the blog .

The first regular season game this year will be Sun valley.  Sun valley finished 10-3 last year as well and plays in the 3A-4A Southern Carolina Conference.  They are the Spartans and they will be traveling to Rockingham on August 19 for the 7:30 kickoff.  This looks like a good matchup for both teams.  Come with us to support the Raiders.  Be sure to listen with the G104FM and WAYN 900 if you are not able to make the trip. this is also the first time Richmond will be playing sun valley.

The second game of the season is Lee County on August 26 at Raider Stadium and the kickoff is scheduled for 7:30. Last season the Raiders defeated the Yellow Jackets 38-21. The Yellow Jackets finished 8-6 last season and made it to the Third round of the NCHSAA State Playoffs before losing to Durham Hillside.  This also looks like it should be a good early matchup for both teams.

Game three has the Richmond Raiders coming to Bearcat Stadium on September 2nd.  The Raiders defeated the Bearcats last season with the score being 14-2.  The Bearcats finished the season with a record of 3-8. This game will be a measuring stick for The Bearcats.

Game four has Richmond  traveling to Hope Mills to take on the Tigers of South View high school on September 9th. . South View finished the year with a 4-8 record.  South View plays in the Mid-South Conference.  South View made to the first round of the NCHSAA State Playoffs before losing to panther creek.  Be sure to listen to the G104FM and WAYN 900 if you find that you are unable to make the trip.

The Endownment Game five for the Raiders and it's West Forsyth on September 16th. be sure to bring your whole family out to support the raiders.  The Raiders defeated West Forsyth in 2007 by the score of 27-21. The Titans finished last season at 7-5 overall.

First conference game has the Raiders traveling to raeford to host hoke county on September 30th. The bucks lost that game 38-17. The bucks finished the season with 3-8 overall.

On October 14th the pirates travels to Richmond sr. high school to take on the raiders for game eight.  Last season the pirates had lost to the raiders by the score of 35-14. Lumberton finished the season last year at 8-4 and losing in the first round of the NCHSAA State Playoffs.

October 21, game ten has the raiders traveling to southern pines to take on pinecrest.  Last season the patriots was  defeated by the Raiders by the score of 51-7  This season's game should be just as hard hitting as last season.  The Patriots finished last season with a record of 7-4.

The final game of the regular season has Senior Night at Pate Stadium coming on October 28th.  The Fighting scots had lost to the raiders by the score of 31-21.  The Scots finished the season last year with a 7-5 record before losing in the first round of the NCHSAA State Playoffs.  With this being Senior Night and with the way the rivalry has been getting between these two schools it would be wise to come early and participate in all the events leading up to the game.  Come out and support the seniors of 2012.
